Submission format and process

ISRN Journals uses an online manuscript submission system (recommended) or journal email submission if provided on the journal’s page. By submitting a manuscript to the journal, the author confirms that the work is original, not under review elsewhere, and that all authors included on the manuscript have approved the content and are agreeing to its submission. This is a standard set of conditions for submitting a manuscript to a journal, comparable to other established journal submission platforms.

The author(s) can download the formatting guide here (General guideline, but can be adjusted based on the manuscript approach)

Submit your manuscript by sending an email to journals@isrnjournals.org

Step-by-step submission process

To submit online, authors create an account, select the most appropriate journal, and enter the required manuscript metadata (title, abstract, keywords, author details, and affiliations). Upload your files in the order requested and ensure the corresponding author’s email is accurate so editorial decisions and reviewer comments reach the right contact. After submission, the editorial office conducts an initial check for scope fit, completeness, and basic compliance with formatting and ethics requirements. Manuscripts that pass screening are assigned to a handling editor and moved into peer review; those that do not meet scope or minimum readiness requirements may be returned for correction or declined at the editorial stage to avoid unnecessary delays.

Step-by-step submission process

To use the online submission system, authors are asked to register with the journal, select the journal to which they wish to submit, and enter the manuscript’s metadata. These include the manuscript’s title, abstract, keywords, authors, and affiliations. The files should be submitted in the order specified. The corresponding author’s email should be accurate to ensure that the journal’s decisions are received by the author. After the submission, the journal will screen the manuscript for relevance, completeness, and basic compliance with its formatting and ethical requirements. Manuscripts that are within the journal’s scope and are adequately prepared will be passed on to the peer review process. Manuscripts that are not within the journal’s scope or are not adequately prepared will be returned to the authors for correction or declined by the journal to avoid delays.

Manuscript file format and basic layout

The journal’s manuscript format should be written in English and submitted as a MS Word document. The journal recommends an academic font style with a font size of 12 points. The journal recommends a uniform style for the manuscript. The journal prefers single spacing with italics rather than underlining, except for URLs. Figures, tables, and illustrations should be included within the manuscript text near where they are presented rather than included at the end.

Recommended manuscript structure

For better readability and indexing, it is recommended that the manuscript be written in an academic style and organized in a particular structure. The recommended structure includes the title, abstract, introduction, body text/methods, results and discussion, conclusion, recommendations, and references. The title should be short, informative, and indexable, and it is recommended that it should not be more than 20 words. The abstract should be on the first page and include an overview of the purpose, methods, main findings, and conclusion. It should not be more than 350 words, followed by 3-5 keywords that are commonly used in the research area.

Tables, figures, and other supplementary materials

Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and should be correctly cited in the text. The sources should be correctly cited and acknowledged, especially in the case of adapted and copyrighted materials. If the paper includes instruments, questionnaires, data, appendices, and technical derivations, they should be included in the appendices or uploaded as supplementary materials.

Referencing and citation style

ISRN Journals require that the references be complete and consistent in the paper, and that they be included at the end of the paper. The APA citation style, 7th edition, should be used unless otherwise specified on the journal’s pages. The style should be consistent and should be used throughout the paper, and DOIs and stable URLs should be included where possible.

Ethics, declarations, and integrity statements

The manuscripts should include statements on ethics, declarations, and statements on integrity, and should be applicable to the research. The authors should be responsible for the accuracy of the work, the content, and the data reporting, and should state whether they used AI tools in editing and formatting the paper, but should not include them as authors and should not use them in fabricating content and references.

What happens after peer review

The editor who handles the paper then makes a decision from among the standard replies, including accept, minor revision, major revision, and decline. If the paper is to be revised, the authors are expected to submit (1) a revised paper and (2) a response document that specifically refers to the comments from the reviewers. After a paper has been accepted, it enters the production process and is published online in the next available issue.
